Abstract

Zulrahman rasyid, year 2017, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Title Thesis "Online Gambling In Yogyakarta Students". The development of information and communication technology used as a means of gambling action, this course makes online gambling increasingly thrives in our contry. Students involved in online gambling, knowing that it is a behavior that is deemed unfavorable, and prohibited by both state law and religious law. This research aims to explain (1) the type of online gambling, (2) the driving factors of students involved in online gambling both up to now, and to (3) describe the impact that students experience during their participation in online gambling. This research uses descriptive qualitative by choosing location in Yogyakarta. The data collection methods used were cross-sectional observations as wellas, structured interviews, and documentation. Informants as a source of data in this research are students who are found in Yogyakarta and directly involved in online gambling game. The selection of informants is done with the principle of purposive sampling. For validity check of data obtained by field using triangulation technique. While the data analysis technique using interactive analysis model which includes four stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and withdrawal of conclusion. The result of this research indicate that there are many types of gambling sites on the internet network, as well as the initial process of students knowing the existence of online gambling begins with the interaction with fellow students, whether in one campus or in one residence with those who has already known an involved in online gambling game, and there are other factors that cause can not stop untill now. With the participation of students in online gambling games, they also feel the negative impact caused. These impacts include impacts on learning achievement, impact on helath, impact on the economy, and personal impact.
