Abstract

Dalam pengambilan keputusan perusahaan, seringkali terdapat perbedaan pendapat antara prinsipal dan agen. Dalam meminimalisirkan perbedaan pandapat tersebut, penggunaan insentif berbasis ekuitas seperti opsi saham merupakan satu cara umum dalam mengurangi permasalahan agensi. ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) merupakan suatu program dibentuk dalam mengurangi permasalahan agensi dan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan rasa memiliki perusahaan (sense of belonging) oleh para karyawan melalui adanya penjatahan saham perusahaan kepada karyawan. Pada tahap selanjutnya, peningkatan sense of belonging mendorong karyawan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kerja sehingga menimbulkan peningkatan kinerja perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bukti empiris apakah terdapat perbedaan kinerja perusahaan sebelum dan sesudah menerapkan (Employee Stock Ownership Program) dengan membandingkan kinerja perusahaan yang diukur dengan beberapa rasio keuangan seperti ROA, ROE, TATO, NPM, dan EPS. Penelitian menggunakan data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan perusahaan pada periode 1 Januari 2010 hingga 31 Desember 2015 dan diperoleh sampel sebanyak 16 perusahaan yang terdaftar di Daftar Efek Syariah (DES). Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kinerja perusahaan sesudah menerapkan ESOP yang diproksikan dengan ROA, ROE, dan EPS, sementara proksi NPM dan TATO tidak memberikan perbedaan kinerja sesudah menerapkan ESOP dengan nilai asymptotic significance di atas > 0.05. Making decision in company, there are different opinions between the principal and the agent. In minimizing the differences, the use of incentives base on equity such as stock options is one of common way reducing agency problems. ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) is a program that build to decrease agency problem and aims to increase sense of belonging company by employee through allocation stock. In the next step, increasing sense of belonging encourages employees to improve work productivity. The result is improvement of company performance. This research aims to find empirical evidence in company before ESOP applied and after applied. Then comparing company performance that measured by financial ratios such as ROA, ROE, TATO, NPM, and EPS. This research uses secondary data, company financial report in period January 1, 2010 until December 31, 2015 is secondary data and obtained 16 companies samples that listed in the List of Sharia Securities (DES). Hypothesis testing using Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test. The results of this research revealed that there is differences of company performance after applying ESOP that proxyed with ROA, ROE, and EPS, while NPM and TATO proxies does not give differences after applying ESOP with asymptotic significance value above > 0.05.
