Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between discipline in mountaineering with self-efficacy of mountaineer. Independent variable is discipline in mountaineering and dependent variable is self efficacy. The population in this study is a mountaineer, at least completed one mountaineering activity. The sample in this study was 187 mountaineers with the data collection method used the scale of Discipline in Mountaineering and the scale of Self Efficacy. This data was analyzed by software SPSS 16.0 for windows with the method of product moment analysis.The results showed that there was a positive correlation between the variable of discipline in mountaineering with self-efficacy variables. This result was shown by the correlation coefficient with (rxy) of 0.538 with p = 0,000 (p 0.05). In other words the higher the discipline in mountaineering, the better the self-efficacy of mountaineers. Vice versa, the lower the discipline in mountaineering, the less good also self-efficacy of mountaineers. The results also showed that the discipline variable in mountaineering contributed effectively to self efficacy by 29%.
