Abstract

Kesusu, is the title of a short film drama comedy drama that tells of a college student who does not have the money to pay for college but in the middle of the road violate traffic signs and must be ticketed by the Police. The movie, directed by Buyung Ispramadi, won the second place at the Police Movie Festival in 2016. The figure of Sodron and the Police figure in the story shows two different social classes, a society that has been viewed as a minor relationship between these two groups to bring down many humanist messages that have been hidden. Therefore the author formulates the problem as follows: How is the humanist message in the film Kesusu, if analyzed using Pierce's method of semiotics model of icons, indexs and symbols. To explain the question the researcher uses descriptive qualitative research method. The subject of this research is Kesusu film. The analytical unit is a snippet of images or visuals embedded in the film Kesusu and the text of the dialogue transcribed from a research-related film. This research was conducted by collecting data through observation, documentation and literature study. Observation by observing and sorting out parts of the film that are relevant to the research, then documented according to category. The literature is done by examining the relevant theory of semiotics. Charles S. Peirce's semiotic theory is used as a knife analysis by researchers so that researchers can understand the existing humanist message through Pierce's tricks such as icons, indexs and symbols. The conclusion of this study is that every issue can be solved with a humanist humanitarian point of view
