Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis ada/tidaknya hubungan kausalitas (sebab akibat) antara ketimpangan distribusi pendapatan dan pertumbuhan ekonomi di Provinsi The main purpose of this research to analyze has any causality between income inequality and economy growth in Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. The variables that are used in this design are Gini Index and Growth of PDRB as a proxy of economy growth. The data that is used are panel data along 15 years from 2001 until 2015 at 5 cities/district in Special Region of Yogyakarta Province. The design of this research is Vector Autoregresive in panel data (PVAR), and the result of this research showed, has any unidirectional causality view between variable of this research, from economy growth to gini index as represent of income inequality. Keywords: Gini Index, Economy Growth, PVAR. [INDONESIA] Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Indeks Gini dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi yang diproksikan oleh pertumbuhan PDRB tiap kabupaten/kota. Data yang digunakan adalah data panel selama 15 tahun, dari tahun 2001 sampai dengan 2015 di lima kabupaten/kota Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis Vector Autoregresive (VAR) pada data panel, dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan satu arah diantara variabel penelitian yaitu dari variabel pertumbuhan ekonomi terhadap variabel indeks gini. Kata Kunci : Indeks Gini, Pertumbuhan Ekonomi, Panel VAR.
