Abstract

Kotagede is one of the cities in Yogyakarta which has many historical and cultural heritage. One of the cultures that eventually became local wisdom that is recitation of childrens, Through persuasive communication techniques conducted by community leaders is one way to invite the children again interested in following recitation of childrens, especially in Kampung Alun-alun, Kotagede. This study discusses Persuasive Communication techniques used in the study of children by community leaders in Alun-alun Kotagede village. The focus of this research is also on how community leaders communicate persuasively to the children so that they are interested to follow the study of children as an effort to preserve local wisdom. This research uses descriptive qualitative study method. Data were collected through interviews, observation and documentation. To check the validity of the data, the researcher uses source triangulation. The result of this research is showing that persuasive communication technique is one effort that can be used to preserve the local wisdom that is recitation of childrens. This persuasive communication technique is applied through the fairy tale and traditional religius song media they used to sing. In this study using several concepts in persuasive communication techniques include association techniques, integration techniques, reward techniques, structuring techniques and red herring techniques
