Abstract

This research focus on Media Relations Activity in supporting positive image at PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta District. The study aims to find and describe how the activities which undertook by PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta district in operation media relations activities. Method of the research was used descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, field observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study used the methods of reduction, display data and conclusions of a text. Subject of the research is head of Public Relations of PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta District with the object of research is PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta District. The results of this study is the disclosure of media relations activities conducted by Public Relations PT PLN (Persero) Yogyakarta District. Formal media relations activities include press conferences, press tours, press releases, special events, media gathering, media monitoring, collaboration with media press and electronic media, and press interviews. While Non-Formal Activities media relations are by personal contact and serve the media. Researchers recommend in media relations PR activities was gave more authority by PT PLN (Persero) regional level in order to do more activities. Increase and maximize activities, both internal and external like the form of information dissemination, education and socialization that can be closer between the community with the company.
