Abstract

This research departs from the issue of the need for a curriculum management that is able to maximize the potential of students in a balanced manner. Included in this case is the importance of students' soft skills if linked to the world of work. Therefore, this study aims to uncover the concept of nature-based curriculum that has been applied in Nurul Islam Yogyakarta Middle School and its impact on students' soft skills. This study uses qualitative methods, namely by digging up data through documentation, interviews and observation. The datum collected were analyzed descriptively analytically. Subjects in this study were cur riculum waka, teachers and students of Nurul Islam IT Middle School. The results showed that a) the Nurul Islam Yogyakarta Middle School curriculum design was in the form of the development of two curricula, namely the national curriculum (2013 curriculum and KTSP), and integrated Islamic curriculum. While the natural curriculum is used as a curriculum method, b) The process of implementing a natural-based curriculum management at Nurul Islam Yogyakarta Middle School in a structural context involves various parties such as the Nurul Islam Foundation Curriculum Team, School Committee, Principal and Teacher. In the academic context, the implementation of natural-based curriculum management is directly carried out by subject teachers, and c) The use of the concept of natural learning in the Nurul Islam Yogyakarta Middle School curriculum has an impact on the growth of students' soft skills such as confidence, cooperation, motivation / initiative and communication. Soft skills are seen in the application of learning such as learning by doing, outing classes and potential student glass programs (GPS).
