Abstract

This research was conducted to reveal the implementation of the school literacy movement as an effort to plant the mental revolution values in students in MIN 2 Sleman. As is known at this time, the cultural leap of reading by watching television, being addicted to games and gadgets can be a fatal accident if continuously abused. Of course this situation should not be allowed to become a national disaster because it will undermine the nation's civilization. Therefore, the nation's children must be re-educated and need a mental revolution. One way is with the school literacy movement. the implementation of the school literacy movement as one of the planting values of mental revolution. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. In this research method, researchers use data collection techniques to emphasize more meaning than generalization. Methods used in this study are: observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis using source triangulation. The results showed that (1) the implementation of the school literacy movement program to instill the value of mental revolution in MIN 2 Sleman was carried out in 3 stages. That is the program plan, program implementation and program monitoring. The program planning phase consists of four stages, namely the background of implementing the GLS program, the formulation of the objectives of the GLS program, the assignment of tasks and the GLS program and the budget and the formation of the GLS program schedule. The implementation phase of the GLS MIN 2 Sleman program is divided into several parts, namely: empowering the use of school structures, infrastructure and strategies for implementing the GLS program to instill the value of mental revolution. Program monitoring phase: monitoring program meetings of principals and vice principals, and monitoring programs in routine teacher and employee meetings. (2) The value of revolution values that can be instilled through the school literacy movement include: the value of religiosity; honesty; trust; curiosity of students; creativity; communicative; love to read and love science; hard work and comply with social rules. (3) Supporting factors include: the principal's policy; participation of parents and homeroom teachers as well as teachers and employees; and other program activities at school. Inhibiting factors for human resources; Interest of students and infrastructure that is not yet adequate.
