Abstract

Lately, Indonesia is still enlivened by the rampant cases of radicalism and intolerance that have spread to various places, one of them in the mosque. The rise of the presence of the preachers who are indicated to spread the notion of intolerance and radicalism in mosques is one of the causes of society's need for a soothing list of preachers, not provocative. This then made the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of the Republic of Indonesia release 200 names of recommendation mubalig on May 18, 2018. Based on these issues, this study aims to examine whether the attitude of takmir management as the person in charge of religious activities is correlated with the news of the recommendation from the Ministry of Religion. Religion in the mass media. This research method uses a quantitative approach through a survey by distributing questionnaires to 61 respondents who were determined using the Slovin formula from the population, namely a takmir administrator from all mosque in the city of Yogyakarta, totaling 510 mosques. Furthermore, the researcher made stratum in 14 sub-districts throughout Yogyakarta so that the number of respondents spread proportionally using the proportionate stratified sampling technique. The theory used in this study is the theory of S-O-R (Stimulus - Organism - Response), exposure to mass media, and a review of attitudes. To answer the problem formulation and hypothesis test, the researcher will analyze the data collected from the field using the Pearson's Correlation (Product Moment) formula. Based on the results of the calculation of the correlation between variables X and Y using Pearson's Correlation (Product Moment) obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.780 (not minus) with a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05) so that it can be interpreted that there is a strong positive correlation and significant between variable X and variable Y. Thus, these results have answered the hypothesis in this study that there is a strong positive correlation and significant between exposure to news release of preachers in the mass media with the attitude of takmir administrators throughout the city of Yogyakarta.
