Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the collaboration between librarians and academics in developing collections at the UMY Library. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research. The method of data collection uses interview, observation and documentation techniques. The process of data analysis used in this study uses theories from Miles and Hubermen, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification. Testing the validity of the data using a credibility test, namely by increasing perseverance, triangulation and member check. The results of this study can be seen that the collaboration between librarians and academics in developing collections in the UMY Library is in the form of library material selection to be held, procurement, both in the form of collections and in the form of budgets. In this collaboration there are obstacles, namely in the case of communication where communication is only through correspondence, but the problem can be overcome, namely through the help of the faculty or study program librarians, this traditional librarian becomes a bridge between the central library and study program. The benefits of this collaboration can be felt by all parties both by librarians and by the academics. For librarians it is easier for them to do their work in this case, namely the development of collections, while for the academics helping them make it easier to get the collections they need. ( INDONESIA ) Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kerja sama yang dilakukan antara pustakawan dan sivitas akademika dalam pengembangan koleksi di Perpustakan UMY. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Proses analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Miles dan Hubermen, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi. Pengujian keabsahan data menggunakan uji kredibilitas yaitu dengan peningkatan ketekunan, triangulasi dan membercheck. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa kerja sama antara pustakawan dan sivitas akademika dalam pengembangan koleksi di Perpustakaan UMY yaitu dalam bentuk seleksi bahan pustaka yang akan diadakan, pengadaan, baik dalam bentuk koleksi maupun dalam bentuk anggaran. Dalam kerja sama ini terdapat hambatan yaitu dalam hal komunikasi dimana komunikasi yang terjalin hanya melalui surat menyurat, namun permasalahan tersebut sudah dapat diatasi yaitu melalui bantuan pustakawan fakultas atau prodi masing-masing, pustakawan falultas ini menjadi penjembatan antara pihak perpustakaan pusat dengan pihak prodi. Manfaat dari kerja sama ini dapat dirasakan oleh semua pihak baik oleh pustakawan maupun oleh pihak sivitas akademika. Bagi pustakawan mempermudah mereka dalam melakukan pekerjaannya dalam hal ini yaitu pengembangan koleksi, sedangkan bagi pihak sivitas akademika membantu mereka mempermudah mendapatkan koleksi yang mereka butuhkan.
