Abstract

Jogja Jogja Garuk Sampah is a community from indigenous society who wants restore culture value gotong royong in Yogyakarta. Like their tagline “Gotong royong reresik kota tiap rabu” through their social media Instagram, Jogja Jogja Garuk Sampah wants to share and invite people in this case followers of @garuksampah to join their activities clean up some areas in the city of yogyakarta. This research using reception analysis Stuart Hall‟s encoding decoding. The type of study was qualitative and focusing to the decoding audience from preception, thought, and interpretation. The data obtainable from in dept interview with followers of @garuksampah as Informant of this research. The Informant was divided into three meaning positions there are Dominant Reading, Negotiated Reading, and Oppositional Reading. The result of this study show the position of Informant. Most of them are in the dominant reading. This is caused by factor education and environment. They feel they have same thought about do good for the environtment by looking from what their social media account post. There are also Informant in the negotiated reading, its because she already has her thought about something like that. Its makes her think again about what Jogja Garuk Sampah‟s social media post about their activities. The different position of Informant could happen because of education and environtment factor.
