Abstract

Human development is an early stage for a country towards maximum economic growth, human development has been formulated into a model of calculation known as the term Human development index. The conventional economy and Islamic economy have the same goal of seeking human development, because humans are the main pillar in the economic cycle in a country. The research purpose to determine the extent of the Human Development Index in ASEAN Member Countries in 2007-2017 is influenced by other factors. The object used in this research is seven ASEAN Member according to the criteria of the sampling method used. This research uses data panel (combination of time series data and cross section), with analysis techniques of Common Effect, Fixed Effect, and Random Effect using EViews 10. The result of research showed that the entire variable had significant effect to Human Development Index. The competitiveness and GDP variable have a positive and significant effect to the Human Development Index, while the variable number of dependencies and population affects significant negatives to the Human Development Index.
