Abstract

The research was meant to describe the implementation steps of bahstul masa'il method and to know the effectiveness of bahstul masa'il method in improving critical thinking and student participation in fikih learning by comparing critical thinking and student participation between experiment class that use bahstul masa'il method and the control class didn't use that method. Then, we measurements of improving the critical thinking and student participation of experiment class before and after the implementation of bahstul masa'il method. The method was used in this research is experimental in the type of quasi experiment using non equivalent control group design. The independent variable (X) in this research is Bahstul Masa'il and dependent variable (Y) is critical thinking (Y1) and student participation (Y2). Data collection techniques are using interviews, questionnaire, observation and documentation. Research data analysis is done with the independent sample test and paired sample t-test. Based on the result of the research, the critical thinking and student participation are different between experiment and control group. The critical thinking and student participation of experiment group was improved. Then it was confirmed that bahstul masa'il method is effective to improving critical thinking and student participation in fikih learning.
