Abstract

Curriculum development must be guarded for a step forward towards a research university. One effort to build a research university is by continuing to improve the course and weight of credits. At the second stratum level, referring to the rules set by SNPT (Permenristekdikti Number 44 of 2015 concerning SNPT) in article 16 credits, the student learning load is at least 36 (thirty-six) credits. So the research university will be built if the course complies with these rules. In a sense, the fewer credits, the better because students focus on research not being burdened with course assignments. The results of the study concluded that shows: First, curriculum planning Master Program in Islamic Education State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga is carried out in detail by a special team of curriculum developers. Second, the curriculum implementation is contained in the RPS compiled by each lecturer. One of the unique aspects of curriculum implementation is the Competency Test (Field Study) course. The course is a subject where students practice teaching taught at the university. Third, curriculum evaluation in the form of a review that is looking at the curriculum used to the needs of graduates. While curriculum development in the Master Program in Islamic Education in Ahmad Dahlan University: First, curriculum planning is carried out cooperatively and contextually. Second, curriculum implementation is carried out in accordance with the RPS prepared by related lecturers through considerations of academic significance and excitement. That is, meaningful and happy here is at the end of the lecture students are happy to have compiled articles published in journals as a condition to get the value of each course. Third, curriculum evaluations are carried out to improve and change for the better.
