Abstract

An analysis of the acceleration of maximum ground vibration has been conducted with the Mc Guiree method in Yogyakarta Special Region. This study aims to understand the value of maximum land acceleration with the Mc Guiree method and analyze zoning risk of earthquake hazard based on the value of maximum land acceleration in special areas of Yogyakarta. The data used in this research is taken from 1971 to 2014. The data of an earthquake is processed using the Mc Guiree method to get the maximum ground acceleration value and earthquake intensity using the Ricter method. The results of the study stated that the maximum ground vibration acceleration ranged from 22.92 to 66.54 gal with the intensity of the earthquake being on a scale from V to VII MMI. Maximum land accelerating microzonation with relatively higher values is in the kretek sub- district (Bantul) and Purwosari sub- district (Gunung kidul). Meanwhile the microzonation of maximum land acceleration with a relatively low value is in the Girisubo sub- district (East of Gunungkidul).
