Abstract

This research aims to analysis and explain the scientific phenomena in science fiction movie which are related with the concept of physics. This research is a library research researching a movie entitled „Interstellar‟ and a physics book which is related to scientific phenomena in the movie. The approach used is qualitative which characteristic is analytical descriptive. The data in the research are obtained by apying content analysis by selecting the scenes in the movie “Interstellar” which includes the representation of scientific phenonemena especially in physics. Based on the research outcome, there are five scientific phenomena in the movie “Interstellar” that are related to physics. They are Newton gravitational (artifiial gravity) and special relativity to a physical concept, as for wormhole, blackhole, and inter-dimensional interaction do not match the concept of physics. Furthermore, this research provides a description of how the relevance of scientific phenomena for Interstellar film to technology and high school. On technology as a valuable inspiration to researchers, and it can be a great encouragement to filmmakers to make their way into science and technology. For high school as the first requirement for modern knowledge of physics.
