Abstract

At this current time, social media is growing increasingly massive and is used by all circles ranging from children, adolescents, to adults are no exception students. The presence of social media, especially Instagram, has influenced human behavior including social relations including religious tolerance. One Instagram account that carries the main theme of tolerance is @toleransi.id. Although there is a social media account that provide information about tolerant life, there are still cases of intolerance that occur in the society. This study aims to determine the scale of the influence of Instagram @toleransi.id to the attitude of religious tolerance in MAN 1 Yogyakarta students with 87 respondents. The research method used in this study is survey method through simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study found that there was an effect of 43.5% on Instagram @toleransi.id on the attitude of religious tolerance which indicated the scale of the influence was at a medium level. Then, it can be interpreted that the information and messages on the Instagram account @toleransi.id is quite influential to the attitude of religious tolerance.
