Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of authoritative parenting and religiosity with emotional intelligence on MAN students Yogyakarta. The subjects in this study had characeristics of youth aged 15-18 and having parents that is still intact. The number of subjects in this study was 125 students consisting of students of MAN 1 and 2 Yogyakarta. The data oin this study had been analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The result of this study indicate that there is a relationship significant between authoritative parenting and religiosity with emotional intelligence is p 0.048 (p<0.05). means that authoritative parenting and religiosity, both have significant relationship with emotional intelligence. Analysis on each independent variable shows authoritative parenting have positive relationship with emotional intelligence (p = 0.048) while religiosity has a positive relationship with emotional intelligence (p = 0.000).
