Abstract

This thesis discusses the discourse analysis on imaging the Yogyakarta City Library in the Sapa Pimpinan rubrics of Bookie Magazine. The purpose is find out form imaging of the Yogyakarta City Library in the Sapa Pimpinan rubrics of Bookie magazine Edition 1st of 2018 to Edition 4th of 2019 based on discourse analysis. This study uses a qualitative research method with the theoretical approach of discourse analysis of the Teun A. van Dijk models. Data validityused test credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Analysis techniques the data was through data reduction, data display, and conclusions drawing. The results of this study are; (1) Types of images in the Sapa Pimpinan rubrics of Bookie Magazine are: mirror image, current image, corporate image, and wish image. (2) The imaging of the Yogyakarta City Library in the Sapa Pimpinan rubrics of Bookie magazine edition 1st of 2018 to edition 4th of 2019 is: a) The Yogyakarta City Library always improves the quality of its services through various innovations and enhancing its human resource skills by adopting and utilizing information technology advancements, so that it can maintain its existence and remain in demand by the community as a source of information. b) Yogyakarta City Library which is also a productive public space so that it plays a central role in economic, social and cultural changes based on information literacy. c) Yogyakarta City Library has a leader who has solidarity in developing the library besides having full power in managing his internal work culture. d) The Yogyakarta City Library which is part of the Regional Organization of the City of Yogyakarta is a form of power of the Yogyakarta City Government as the right information-giving authority in addition to the legitimacy of the presence of services in providing information services to the people of the City of Yogyakarta. Suggestions from this research are: (1) Yogyakarta City Library in order to be able to continue to improve innovation and services as wish images by the head of the library that are discussed in the Sapa Pimpinan rubrics of Bookie Magazine so that it can fully become a corporate image. (2) The upcoming Head of the Yogyakarta City Library can adopt the use of the Sapa Pimpinan rubrics of Bookie Magazine in producing discourse to form the image of the Yogyakarta City Library.
