Abstract

This research is motivated by the Ministry of National Education which set 18 characters as a determinant of the success of our nation where the first character is religious character. But the fact is in the world of education there are still many deviations and problems of adolescents that are often underestimated even though it is very damaging to the character of the nation's generation. Even the Kompas daily headline says that the damage to our nation's character has reached a very alarming stage. The focus of this study is the values of religious characters formed in the practice-based habituation program yaumiyah, how the strategies and how the results of students' religious character formation. This type of research uses qualitative research with Sufism approach. Data sources in this study include: Principal, Deputy Principal, PAI teacher and several students. Data collection is obtained by observing carefully the process of character formation, conducting in-depth interviews with data sources and gathering activity documents. In data analysis is done by reducing data and presenting data that has been obtained to draw a conclusion. The results of this study (1) The values of religious characters formed in SMP Negeri 3 Kartasura are (a) Divine values which consist of praying 5 times, praying, dhikr, reading asmaul husna, dhuha prayers, Friday prayers, deepening Al- Qur'an, piety and sincerity. (b) Insaniyah values consisting of courtesy, honesty and trustworthiness. (2) Strategies for religious character building include: inclusive strategies, school culture, spontaneous activities and conditioning. The practice of yaumiyah practice is divided into several habituation activities including: (a) daily habituation consisting of 5S cultural activities, prayer dhuhur in congregation, dhuha prayer, praying and dhikr after prayer, reading Asmaul Husna, murajaah juz 30 , and daily prayers. (b) weekly habituation consisting of BTA activities, Friday prayers and Friday infaq. (d) monthly habituation consisting of routine recitation activities and (e) annual habituation consisting of Ramadhan pesantren activities, zakat fitrah and Eid al-Adha prayer (3) After habituation the students' character becomes more polite, pious, honest, sincere and trustful.
