Abstract

This research is a study of the thought of a character with the research subject is Blasius Sudarsono. The purpose of this study is to determine the thoughts and contributions of Blasius Sudarsono regarding librarianship in Indonesia. This type of research is qualitative using a descriptive approach. This research is a library research or library research, namely using library materials as primary material in the form of Blasius Sudarsono's works as the object of study. The data analysis used is the content analysis method with the stages of collecting primary sources, classifying based on textual mapping, analyzing by providing interpretation through understanding the text to find the direction of thought as a whole The results of this study indicate that: 1. Blasius Sudarsono's thoughts on librarianship in Indonesia include; (a). the basic framework of Indonesian librarianship which explains that librarianship is a calling for life and spirit of life, librarianship is a work of service, and librarianship is a professional, (b) Indonesian librarian studies are described in six concentric circles consisting of human centered design and centered development programs, education and training, research and development, services or services provided by the documentation unit, appreciation, and finally the market and library services unit, (c) the main and middle librarian capacity development strategy which consists of three strategic steps, namely changing the character of the paternalistic bureaucratic library organization to become professional bureaucracy, building functional groups and regulating working mechanisms between structural and functional officials, developing the capacity of structural and functional officials. 2. While the contribution made to Indonesian librarianship is to form a librarian study group (Kappa Sigma Kappa Indonesia), proposing the merger of three national heritage preservation institutions, namely (National Library, National Archives, and National Museum) in 2025, contributing to creating the implementation of a standardization system. libraries, contributing to the preparation of Government Regulations governing national standards and library standards. From this research, the researcher provides recommendations so that research on Blasius Sudarsono's thoughts about librarianship in Indonesia can be studied in narrower topics and further researched. For example, the idea that librarians are not civil servants, reflection and transformation of Indonesian librarianship
