Abstract

This research was conducted for a thesis that discusses the payment of zakat online from the perspective of Islamic law. One of the pillars of Islam is zakat, zakat is mandatory for those who are able and qualified. Zakat is giving part of the assets that we have to give to those who are entitled and have been determined by religion as stated or written in the Qur'an and As-Sunnah. But in this day and age there are a variety of new things where there are significant differences with those in the AlQuran, As-Sunnah and fiqh books, one of which is the existence of an online zakat payment system (e-zakat). E-zakat is an online zakat payment system or uses a digital system by utilizing online applications or creating new applications specifically for zakat payment. In this case, even fiqh experts and contemporary scholars do not discuss the law of implementing e-zakat and the mechanism of the e-zakat. Therefore the existence of mas lahah mursalah is the rule of establishing contemporary Islamic law which still refers to the main source of law namely the Qur'an and Sunnah in order to get answers to problems that are happening in society. The purpose of this research is to find out the legal payment of zakat online. The method of analysis in this research is perspective using the ushul fiqh approach through the theory of maslahah mursalah. The results and analysis of the research show that the law on the payment of zakat conducted online is legal, bearing in mind that the legal conditions for zakat have been achieved, namely intention and tamlik. While maslahah mursalah also justified given that proficiency level provides greater benefits than the damage.
