Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know about the presence of relation of social support with adversity quotient toward students in “X” Islamic senior high school “X” Islamic boarding school Ponorogo east java or not. This research uses quantitative method, and uses Sarafino (1994) social support scale and Stoltz (2000) adversity quotient scale as data collection tool. Data collection in this research uses purposive sampling technique with amount of samples is 120 students. Then, this research uses technique of person product moment analysis data. The result of this research show that there are significant positive relation between student social support with adversity quotient, with coefficient value: r = 0,597, p = 0,000 ((p <0,05). It means that the higher the social support, so adversity quotient of the student is higher too. Otherwise if there are more negative of social support, so adversity quotient of student is low. The effective donation result toward adversity quotient of students in “X” Islamic senior high school “X” Islamic boarding school from parents donation is 0,18%, social support of teachers is 14, 1%, and friend social support is 23,6%. Overall, the result of effective donation social support of adversity quotient toward students in “X” Islamic senior high school “X” Islamic boarding is 37, 9%.
