Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between parental self-acceptance and authoritarian parenting styles for children with special needs. The population in this study were parents who have children with special needs and the sample teken was 30 samples from parents of guardians of SLB ABCD Mutiara Nusantara Majenang Cilacap students with random sampling technique. This study uses a quantitative coorelation method bt connecting two different variable. Data were collected using a questionnaire scale that was given directly to the parents. The technique used in retrieval uses the self acceptance scale from berger (2017) and the authoritarian parentinf style scale from riberio (2009 adapted by Lolita Nur Cahyanuari (2018).Correlation analysis shows that the coefficient of self-acceptance from the father’s authoritarian parenting style with self-acceptance gets a score of r =0,001 and a significance of 0,843 (sig>0,05). Meanwhile, the correlation variable between maternal authoritarian parenting style and self-acceptance got a scor of r = 0,086 and signicance of 0,115 ( sig >0,05). So it can be concluded that there is no relationship between parental self-acceptance with authoritarian parenting stlyles.
