Abstract

Reformation occurred in Europe has obviously and strongly influenced the reli gious thought, especially Christianity one. Issue of male and female relation is one of fundamental thoughts which develops liberally enough in Christian, either Catholic or Protestant. In the article, writer tries to trace the development of the theological thought of Christian on male and female relation. Began with the conflict between dogmatic priests of Church and reformists who denied the Church's dogmatism, Reformation developed to a new direction, i.e., idea of the theology of liberation. The theology theoretically and practically also devel oped to liberate women. Then feminist theology dynamically evolves, from the making of women's organizations, Church for women, theological studies on women, to the movement of deconstruction of the Bible. The phenomenon, fi nally, makes the Church to give an open and positive respond the idea of women's liberation.
