Abstract

This research was entitled Persuasive Communication Techniques in Preventing Free Sex. The purpose of this study was to see how persuasive communication techniques in the prevention of free sex by PIK R Prayoga. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative and data collection methods through in-depth interviews, literature studies, documentation, and observation. The issue was free sex has an impact on the high rate of child marriage in Sleman Sub-district, while there was the Prayoga Youth Information and Counseling Center (PIK R Prayoga) as an free sex prevention agent. There were five persuasive communication techniques: association techniques, integration techniques, setting techniques, red-herring techniques, the pay-off technique used. Based on these five techniques, the pay-off technique was the only one that was not used because it was irrelevant if applied to teenagers.
