Abstract

Padi is a crop that produces rice which is then cooked and produces rice as one of our staples. The growth and development of rice is very dependent on the quality of the Padi seed. Good quality of padi seeds come from padi seeds that have passed the quality testing process in the laboratory to get certified. The selection process for the certification of rice seeds in the Department of Agriculture in DIY is still using the manual method, not yet using the system. For that we need a system that is able to provide decisions to determine which padi seeds are entitled to get certification. For this reason, a decision support system is needed by using the Simple Additive Weighting and Weighted Product methods. These two methods was chosen because it uses many considerations as a basis for decision making. There are 6 criteria used for certifying padi seeds, water content, pure seeds, other plant seeds, weed seeds, seed droppings, and germination. The results of this research that has succeeded in creating a system that support the decision to certify paddy seeds. Data from the test results stated that 45% respondents stated strongly agree, 48% respondents stated agreed, 7% respondents stated neutral, 0% of respondents stated disagree and strongly disagree.
