Abstract

This research is about the principles interpersonal communication in maintaining the religiosity of special worship among transgender in Pondok Pesantren Waria Al-Fatah Yogyakarta. The problem of the research is how priciples interpersonal communication among transgender can support in transgender religiosity. The type of this research is qualitative using qualitative descriptive methods. The subject of this research is Bu Shinta and transgender students in Pondok Pesantren Waria Al-Fatah Yogyakarta. While the object of this research is principles interpersonal communication in maintaining the religiosity of transgender at Pondok Pesantren Waria Al-Fatah Yogyakarta. The results of this research indicate that transgender in Pondok Pesantren Waria Al-Fatah Yogyakarta uses a principles interpersonal communication for maintaining religiosity of special worship among transgender, which includes understand the components and context of communications, honestly communicate, emphaty, listen sincerely, actively communicate, and understand verbal and nonverbal communication. Interpersonal communication very important to make transgender survive from the dark side of transgender life, and can return to the right path based on their religion adopted. So transgender can carry out their special worship continuosly
