Abstract

In modern era, technological development is rapidly progressing, the whole process of communication utilize technology. The intensity of use of very high communication technology especially in teenagers can be addictive or commonly referred to as Nomophobia. Nomophobia can also occur due to other factors such as the diversity of social media especially Instagram that makes technology users feel closer to technology, the content provided in it also plays a role in making technology users addicted. This research uses a qualitative approach. Characteristics of the study subjects included teenagers who were suspected to have indicated Nomophobia. The number of subjects in this study were 5 people. Data collection techniques with interviews, observation and documentation as a support method. All data sources were then analyzed qualitatively and triangulated to describe the causes of Nomophobia in teenagers in Gamping Kidul. The results showed that the content that causes nomophobia in teenagers in Gamping Kidul is Entertainment Content and Educational Content in the form of makeup tutorials, cooking tutorials, music videos, horror videos and football news.
