Abstract

Self disclosure is a process of sharing or expressing information and feelings someone to others. Twitter can be a place of self-disclosure for everyone, including lesbians. This study aims to explain how the function and risk of self-disclosure of lesbians on Twitter. The methodology used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was taken based on in-depth interview data and re-verification by taking documents from tweet activities conducted by lesbians on Twitter. The results of this study are that not all functions are carried out by each lesbian. the function of self-expression most often done is to express the problems of life. The function of social validation is more influential on someone who often voices opinions. The function of clarifying identity is implied. The function of social control is done when someone is in doubt or questioning something. The function of relationship development will run smoothly when someone is intense when interacting with each other. The function of share information often done when sharing experiences. The function of storage information and entertainment is often done in the form of jokes. Then the risk that comes from lesbians when doing self-disclosure is cyberbullying
