Abstract

This study was motivated by the absence of ammonia gas levels measurement system made using TGS-826 sensor and the Arduino Nano microcontroller. This study aimed to design, create, and test the ammonia gas measurement systems using the TGS-826 sensor and Arduino Nano microcontroller. This study was conducted in four stages wich are system design, hardware building, software making, and system testing. The system was designed by using SketchUp application. The hardware was made of TGS-826 sensor, Arduino Nano microcontroller, 16x2 LCD, and micro SD module. The software was created by applying the arduino.IDE application. The system testing has been done by using some ammonia gas consentrations i.e 30 PPM, 60 PPM, 90 PPM, 120 PPM, 150 PPM, 180 PPM, 210 PPM, 240 PPM, 270 PPM and 300 PPM. The ammonia gas measurement system has been successfully designed and created using the TGS-826 sensor and Arduino Nano microcontroller. The test result shows that this instrument was able to detect ammonia gas levels in the system, and obtained 72.23% of accuracy, 87.10% repeatability precision, and 80.42% reproducibility precision.
