Abstract

Archiving is a process of organizing archives starting from creation, receipt, recording, storage. The archiving process uses a certain system in the preparation, maintenance of records so that they can be recovered quickly and precisely and for destruction of archives based on certain criteria. At the secretariat of the Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga, especially in the field of academic operations, which handles the data filing process for thesis requirements, they still use conventional work procedures, namely using ledgers and Ms. It is feared that Excel data will be easily damaged or lost, writing is difficult to read by officers and errors or errors occur on the disposition sheet so that it is difficult to digest the meaning of the contents of the disposition and as a result , inputting the disposition column for student thesis data archive requirements is hampered. For that, we need an information system that is able to handle the archiving of thesis files in storing and searching for a document that is needed in a fast, precise and detailed manner. So that it can speed up the stages of the next work process. The information system was created, designed using the PHP programming language with the Code Igniter framework and MySQL as the database. The system development method used is the Waterfall method, while the design for this system is built with the Unified Modeling Language (UML). From the design and development of the system that has been implemented, a system that can display archival information systems is produced that can overcome the weaknesses of the manual system used today. In addition, it facilitates the work process of officers to improve better service in serving the process of collecting thesis documents. This information system can not only assist students in completing thesis files, but also make it easier for officers to map thesis documents.
