Abstract

International trade activities are inseparable in the era of globalization. International trade in Indonesia has changed since the 1980s, where previously exports in Indonesia focused on the oil and gas sektor, but in 1987 exports in Indonesia experienced a change, where exports themselves began to be dominated by non-oil and gas commodities. In the commodity processing sektor, footwear is ranked 8th out of 10 leading commodities in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of the variable GDP of the export destination countries, inflation of the Indonesian, the exchange rate of the Indonesian against USD and the population of the export destination countries on Indonesia's footwear exports in 2008-2019. The method used in this research is the Least Square Panel (PLS). The variable data is taken from the Worldbank, Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) and UNcumtrade. The objects in this study were 6 export destinations for Indonesian footwear, namely the United States, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom. The results of this study indicate that simultaneously or collectively all the independent variables have a significant effect on Indonesian footwear exports. While partially the GDP variable has a significant positive effect on the variable value of Indonesian footwear exports. Inflation and population variables have a negative and significant effect on the variable value of Indonesian footwear exports. However, the Indonesian exchange rate variable against the USD has an insignificant negative effect on the Indonesian footwear export value variable.
