Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 28 member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) for the period 2006-2019. The determinant variables of FDI inflows are corruption (CPI), inflation, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), trade openness using the rule of law variable as the moderating variable. This study uses the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) analysis model. In addition, the MRA (Moderated Regression Analysis) analysis is also used to analyze the influence variable of the rule of law. The results showed that inflation and trade openness had a significant positive effect, while corruption and GDP had a significant negative effect. The rule of law in this study is able to moderate all independent variables on FDI inflows, with the Quasi Moderator classification meaning that the rule of law interacts with independent variables as well as becomes independent variables. This result implies that the government needs to improve the system of legal stability, especially economic and political policies in order to achieve the desired economic stability.
