Abstract

Communication is a process in which a person or persons create and use information to connect with the environment and other people. Difficulties in communicating will affect the life and relationships and interpersonal relationships in the deaf-speech community. Moreover, sign language is needed to solve problems in order to facilitate services at PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Design and Build Development of Website-based Indonesian Sign language learning is considered very important at PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and is very helpful as a medium of communication for the deaf/speech and PLD volunteers at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This Indonesian Sign language learning system was developed using the Extreme Programming method so that it becomes more adaptive and flexible. The development of Indonesian Sign language learning uses the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework and Javascript as the basis of the system, and MySQL to manage the database. Based on the results of the development of sign language learning at PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga, it can be concluded that the author has succeeded in designing and building webbased Indonesian Sign language learning. This conclusion is based on the results of system testing through two processes, namely functionality testing and usability testing. The results of the functionality test show that the developed system can function 100%. And the usability test resulted in a score of 52% Strongly Agree, 32% Agree and 16% Neutral, for this webbased Sign Language Learning Development System at PLD UIN Sunan Kalijaga
