Abstract

This Study discussed prevention of library materials damage in Islamic University of Indonesia Library Directorate. This study aims to describe the prevention activity of library materials damage. This study used a qualitative method. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used the theory of analysis by Miles and Huberman. The results showed prevention activity of library materials damage that damage search at shelf,fumigation, camphor, dust cleaned, covered, digitalization, air conditioner, CCTV and security check. Library materials in Islamic University of Indonesia Library Directorate have still damaged paper fragile cover damage, hole, change of paper colour, foxing, and colour of paper faded. Researchers give suggestions that hold prevention socialization, add to prevention staff, camphor check, installation and setting ideal temperature of air conditioner.
