Abstract

The countries with an open economic system in improving their domestic economy require the involvement of other countries. One form of this involvement is by conducting international trade. Exports are part of international trade. Indonesian is one of the many countries that export to other countries. There are many sectors that are leading Indonesian exports, one of which is the plantation sector. Tea is one of the leading commodities. Since the time of the Dutch East Indies, Indonesian tea has become a product that is much sought after by countries in the world. So that in this study aims to determine the determinant of the volume of Indonesian tea exports to the largest tea export destination country case study 1988-2018. In this research, the type of data used is secondary data time series. The dependent variable is the Indonesian tea export volume, while the independent variable is the total GDP per capita of the largest exporting country, the exchange rate, international tea prices, land area and international coffee prices. In this research, the method used is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model which aims to determine the dynamic relationship between the variables research. The data in this study were obtained from various sources including the World Bank, Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, and UNComtrade. The results of this study indicate that in the long term GDP per capita has a significant effect on Malaysia and Pakistan, the exchange rate has a significant effect on all countries, land area has a significant effect on all countries, and coffee prices have an effect on Russia and Pakistan. Meanwhile, in the short term GDP per capita affects Malaysia and Pakistan, the exchange rate affects the country, land area affects Malaysia and Pakistan, and the price of coffee affects Russia and Pakistan on the volume of Indonesian tea exports.
