Abstract

Analysis of potential and economic growth centers aims to know economic sectors a areas that have the potential to develop as priority sectors and economic growth centers in NoLabuhanbatu district. By analyzing each of the GRDP`s forming sectors using the LQ, OverlMRP, Shift-share and Typology klassen methods, will be able to identify sectors which are eitbasic or nonbasic, the sectors has a competitive and comparative advantages, competitive and specialist advantages, and advanced sectors in the economic structure that can be used as a ban determining priority sectors or leading sectors. Then the population, the distance between sdistricts and the number of facilities data in a sub-district can be used to classify the sub-distrihat have the potential to become economic growth centers in North Labuhanbatu district by ushe Gravity analysis model (linkages between regions) and the skalogram analysis model. Tdata used are sourced from BPS North Labuhanbatu Regency, BPS North Sumatra Province aNational BPS with a research period of 2010-2018. The overall analysis concluded that there are four priority hierarchies, namely the first priorhe agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors; second priority, industrial and processing sectohe third priority, the construction sector; the wholesale and retail trade sector, car amotorcycle repair, and fourth priority, the electricity and gas procurement sector; and mandatogovernment administration, defense and social security sectors. Meanwhile, the sub-districts tbecome the economic growth centers in North Labuhanbatu district are Na IX-X sub-distrKualuh Hulu sub-district and Kualuh Selatan sub-district.
