Abstract

Currently, there are various interpretations and understandings related to religious terms, which one of these is understandings of hijrah term. The meaning of hijrah which originated from the event of the Prophet's move from the city of Mecca to Medina, and now the meaning of hijrah is identic to a change in the lifestyle of a muslim to be more syar'i. The meaning of hijrah from time to time, changes in meaning due to the development of different thoughts and cultures. The mass media as a medium for da'wah, has an important role in spreading Islamic values. One of them is the NU online media‘s which is under the auspices of the Nahdlatul Ulama Management. This study examines how NU online is in developing hijrah discourse and examines the ideology of NU online media in producing hijrah discourse, and tracks the suitability of media ideology with the ideology held by the Nahdlatul Ulama organization. This research is using content analysis method. Data collection is limited to articles with the theme of hijrah discourse, by title, content, and hashtags using the word hijrah in 2019. The results of this research are, first, NU online way to introduce the meaning of hijrah, by producing opinion articles and news. Second, the difference in the meaning of the past and present of hijrah desceibed by NU online is quite clear. Third, the various forms of hijrah that are approved and introduced by NU online. In producing opinion articles and news about hijrah discourse, NU online provides opinion articles, most of which always provide references to Al -Qur'an, Hadith, and the opinion of ulama. In terms of media ideology, NU online to dominates his organization, which is proven by several times NU online mentioned certain muslim community who tend to misinterpret about hijrah.
