Abstract

As a country that has diversity in both race, ethnicity, religion and culture. This diversity creates many differences in the community environment which will provide opportunities for conflict if there is no mutual understanding and respect for one another. The process of minimizing the conflict can be started from an early age by applying the motto of Bhineka Tunggal Ika. By instilling multicultural education for students in schools. Multicultural education provides appropriate representation in the School curriculum for groups that were previously marginalized or excluded because of gender, class, race or sexual orientation. One of the media for implementing the curriculum in schools is student textbooks. Student textbooks are mandatory school manuals that are used for students, consisting of learning materials to increase faith and piety, character and personality, mastery of science and technology, sensitivity and aesthetic abilities, physical and health potential which are arranged based on standards national education. Through textbooks, the values of multicultural education can be applied. The core values in multicultural education consist of three, namely democratic values, humanism, and pluralism. This research uses library research (library research). Research library research is research that collects information obtained from books, magazines, scientific journals, and documents. This research library research aims to, firstly, produce data in the form of multicultural education values contained in Indonesian language subjects in the integrated thematic book curriculum 2013 SD / MI class III student books, secondly there are components of developing Indonesian subjects with integrated thematic books curriculum. 2013 SD / MI class III student books, and a multicultural approach with Indonesian class III SD / MI subjects. The results of the study produce that, first, the content of multicultural education values in the thematic textbooks of Indonesian language subjects for grade III SD / MI of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia 2018 revision, is the main material on each theme with a total discussion of 4 themes, 16 sub-themes 96 lessons. In this study, it was found that the values of multicultural education developed in thematic textbooks included 3 values, namely 1) Democratic Values, 2) Humanistic Values, and 3) Pluralistic Values. Second, the accuracy in developing the values of multicultural education with the thematic textbook component of Indonesian class III SD / MI students is said to be quite appropriate. Because the percentage of multicultural education values as a whole reaches 60%. While on the measurement scale of 60% it is classified as quite precise. Third, a multicultural education approach with Indonesian class III SD / MI subjects using an additive approach and a transformation approach.
