Abstract

Before investing their capital, investors will be selective in choosing companies that can provide sustainable profits and avoid bankruptcy so that investors can get maximum business profits.The study aims to examine the effect of earnings management, strategy and social responsibility on the risk of bankruptcy using Panel Data Regression analysis of companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index for the 2015-2019 period. The results showed that earnings management and cost leadership business strategy have a positive effect on bankruptcy risk. Meanwhile, differentiation business strategies and social responsibility have a positive effect on financial performance and a negative effect on bankruptcy risk. This study is important for external stakeholders, for assessing the risk of company bankruptcy, financial capacity and reputation, and for internal interests, in formulating a feasibility strategy and reducing bankruptcy.
