Abstract

This study aims to explore and understand the appreciation of religion in the phenomenon of religious conversion due to marriage. This research method, using qualitative methods, phenomenological approach with the number of 3 research informants. The data collection of this research is observation and semi-structured interviews. Furthermore, the data were analyzed through the process of data reduction, coding, categorization, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study, it was found that the appreciation of religion in someone who converted to religion because marriage was formulated to be 2, first, the informant who got married was based on interest in religion first and then love grew, in this formula the informant was more able to interpret his religion when the difficulty came and secondly, interest in a partner first, then there is interest in religion, this formula is not enough for informants to interpret their religion when the problem comes. The factors that influence the appreciation of religion in this study, namely from oneself there is an interest in the new religion, and also the support system, especially from spouses, families, and also the environment.
