Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between problem solving and interpersonal communication with resilience in adolescents. The sample in this study were adolescents in Magelang regency with a total of 383 adolescents. Sampling using incidintal sampling technique. The theory used in the resilience variable refers to Wagnild and Young's theory, while the problem solving theory refers to Heppener and Peterson and the theory of interpersonal communication refers to Bienvenu. Research measurement using resilience scale refers to Wagnild and Young theory, problem solving scale refers to Heppener and Peterson and interpersonal communication scale refers to Bienvenu theory. Data were collected using a resilience scale which has an alpha coefficient of 0.689, a problem solving scale that has an alpha coefficient of 0.833 and an interpersonal communication scale with an alpha coefficient of 1,96. The statistical analysis technique uses multiple regression correlation because. The correlation coefficient (rxxy) is 25.679 with p = 0.000. The results of the analysis show that there is a positive relationship between problem solving and interpersonal communication with resilience in adolescents. Contribution of effective problem solving and interpersonal communication with a resilience of 11.9%. The results of the study show that there are still many adolescents who have low resilience and more dominant adolescents who have very low resilience as much as 38.1%, so it is necessary to increase resilience in adolescents so that when facing pressure or problems, adolescents avoid maladaptive behavior, aggressiveness, frustration. , depression, alcoholism, brawls and so on.
