Abstract
The number of women who want to have an ideal and proportional body makes women do diet to make their bodies ideal and proportionate. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between body image of early adult women and eating behavior. This study was conducted on adult women who were undergoing a diet programs. The sample of this study amounted to 100 respondents and the samples were taken using a quota sampling technique. The data were collected using a diet behavior scale, the alpha coefficient of the diet behavior scale was 0.873, the alpha coefficient of the body image scale was 0.972, and the alpha coefficient of the self-esteem scale was 0.940. The data analysis technique used is a variety of regression analysis techniques. The results of data analysis showed that dietary behavior had a negative correlation with body image and self-esteem simultaneously, with a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05). The effective contribution of body image and self-esteem was 47.5%. There is a negative correlation between body image and diet behavior. The effective contribution of body image to diet behavior was 24.8%. There is a negative correlation between self-esteem and dietary behavior. The effective contribution of independent variables to diet behavior was 22.6%.
