Abstract

The study aimed to identify a joy to collectors. Informants in this study were five the obtained by purposive sampling techniques. Methods used in this study is the phenomenology qualitative. Data collection techniques used included the interview, observation, and documentation. While analysis techniques used in this study of data collection, the reduction of the data, presentation of data, and the withdrawal of the conclusions. This research result indicates that there are 9 themes related to a happiness waste picker, namely: (1) purport to work done; (2) interaction with the community and environment; (3) interaction with family; (4) gaze towards the future; (5) acceptance of are now; (6) conformity between hope and the fact; (7) in the past and current; (8) of fighting in a difficult situation and; (9) achievements in life. Because done in Indonesia will, attaching religious this study conclused that religion can affect happiness directly.
