Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the social care character of students. The process of teaching and learning activities must be carried out through Distance Learning (PJJ). In the process of Distance Learning (PJJ) the teacher cannot play a direct role in developing the social care character of students. During the covid-19 pandemic, learning activities and character development activities are fully borne by parents. Therefore, this study aims to 1) analyze the teacher's role in developing the social care character of grade VI students during the covid-19 pandemic at SD Negeri Wirosaban Yogyakarta, 2) analyze the role of parents in developing social care characters for grade VI students during the covid-19 pandemic. at SD Negeri Wirosaban Yogyakarta, and 3) analyzing the implications of the role of teachers and parents in developing the social care character of grade VI students during the covid-19 pandemic at SD Negeri Wirosaban Yogyakarta. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique of determining the subject used our positive sampling technique. The research subjects were principals, teachers, parents, and students. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The technique of checking the validity of the data is in the form of triangulation, then the data is analyzed by reducing the data, presenting the data, and the final stage of drawing conclusions. The results of this study are the role of the teacher in developing the social care character of grade VI students during the covid-19 pandemic at SD Negeri Wirosaban Yogyakarta, including: 1. The role of the teacher is as: 1) Exemplary, 2) Teacher as a guide, 3) Teacher as facilitator. 2. The role of parents in developing the social care character of grade VI students during the covid-19 pandemic at SD Negeri Wirosaban Yogyakarta includes: 1) parents as role models, 2) parents as habituation of student activities, 3) motivators. 3. The implications or impacts of developing students' social care characters have an impact on the students themselves, parents, and teachers. As well as the impact that occurs from developing students' social care characters during the pandemic in the form of positive impacts.
