Abstract

This study aims to 1) describe the process of developing a fairy tale book based on local wisdom of Musi Rawas Regency as additional teaching material and a complement to the 2013 curriculum thematic book theme Loving Plants and Animals fairy tale material for grade III students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Falah Terawas, 2) Knowing the validity of fairy tale books based on local wisdom of Musi Rawas Regency as teaching material for grade III students of Madrasah Ibtidaiayh Nurul Falah Terawas, 3) Knowing the differences in reading interests of students before and after using fairy tale book teaching materials based on local wisdom of Musi Rawas Regency as teaching materials for grade III students Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Falah Terawas. This research is a type of research development (Research and Development) using the development model according to Sugiyono which consists of 8 steps. This research and development resulted in a product in the form of fairy tale book teaching materials based on the wisdom of Musi Rawas Regency as additional teaching material and a complement to the 2013 class III thematic book curriculum theme Loving Plants and Animals in fairy tale material. The product of fairy tale book teaching materials based on local wisdom of Musi Rawas Regency was assessed for validity by media experts with an average score of 92% in the very feasible category and the linguist's assessment obtained an average score of 90% with the very feasible category. Based on the analysis of the differences in students' reading interest between before and after using fairy tale book teaching materials based on local wisdom of Musi Rawas Regency with the paired sample t-test conducted through the SPSS 21 program, the Sig value was obtained. (2-tailed), which is equal to 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the reading interest of students before and after the application of fairy tale book teaching materials based on local wisdom of Musi Rawas Regency to grade III students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Falah Terawas with comparisons the pretest mean score was 66.5909 and the post-test was 88.4091.
