Abstract

This research is motivated by the many problems faced by teachers of SD Negeri Candi, especially in teaching and learning activities, both from the learning method or the limited interaction between students and teachers during the Covid-19 pandemic, which really requires teachers to constantly develop their teaching skills, problems This was quite well responded to by the principal who acted quickly to organize a training program for teachers at the elementary school in order to improve teacher skills which were beneficial for the continuity of teaching and learning activities at the school, this training activity was called in service training. This type of research is field research, which is qualitative in nature, the approach used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Sources of data in this study are the in service training committee and training participants. In collecting data, researchers used observation, interview, documentation and triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique used was data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. To test the validity of the data, the credibility test with triangulation was used. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that: 1) in service training activities begin with problems that make it a reason to proceed to planning activities which consist of setting goals, formulating conditions at that time, identifying facilities and obstacles, developing a series of activities, then implementing in service training activities. This activity is carried out four times with different materials and facilitators at each meeting. This activity uses an andragogic approach so that it invites participants to be active and take part in the training, then conduct an evaluation of the activity and follow-up that refers to the existing evaluation.
