Abstract

The Covid-19 epidemic that originated in Wuhan, China has entered Indonesia in early 2020. Where everyone is feeling tremendous distress and chaos because of this new disease, many areas have been affected by this virus, one of which is in the field of education, which results in changes in the learning system in the world of education. With this change in the learning system, that is, previously the learning process was carried out face-to-face, for now it must be replaced by an online learning system that is carried out at each home. With this online learning system, early childhood learning uses audio-visual media (video), so it is necessary to have parenting skills for parents in accompanying early childhood learning using audio-visual media during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the above problems, this study aims to determine the Parenting Skill of Parents in Accompanying Early Childhood Learning Using Audio Visual Media (Vidio) during the Covid-19 pandemic in Kalianda District, South Lampung. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were the parents of early childhood in Kalianda District, Lampung-Selatan, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation, which can provide important notes on the problems in this study. In this study, data analysis was carried out using four stages, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. In addition, the last step taken in this study was checking the validity of the data, which was carried out using data triangulation techniques, which consisted of technical triangulation and source triangulation. Technique triangulation in this research is observation, interview, and documentation. While the source triangulation is parents of early childhood, early childhood, and early childhood education teachers. The results showed that the parenting skill process of parents in accompanying early childhood learning by using audio-visual media is by making daily schedules for children, using materials on available educational sites, adding knowledge by following webinars, getting children to move, and avoid stress triggers for children. As for learning using several methods, the first is the audio learning method, the dominant learning method involving sound. Next is the visual method, the dominant learning method involving body movements while learning. The following method is carried out using the Whatshapp Group application. Initially, parents complained a lot and did not understand children's learning methods online, but slowly parents were able to adjust
